1. The working principle of peristaltic pump


The peristaltic pump is a commonly used equipment, which is composed of a driver, a pump head and a peristaltic pump hose. It is a liquid delivery equipment that can control the flow rate.


The gland and roller of the pump compress the hose, and the hose between the two rollers presents a pillow shape. When the roller rotates, the elastic delivery hose is alternately squeezed and released to pump fluid. With the rolling of the rollers, the elasticity of the hose will restore the pump tube to its original shape, forming a negative pressure at the pump inlet, which promotes the flow of liquid and makes it fill the pipeline to achieve the purpose of transmission. The pillow-shaped volume formed therein has a certain relationship with the wall thickness, inner diameter of the peristaltic pump hose and the size of the roller. The flow rate of the pump depends on the speed of the pump head and the wall thickness of the hose. In general, the volume of liquid delivered each time is the same.


2. The classification of peristaltic pumps


Because peristaltic pump is widely used and are used in all walks of life, it is an equipment used for precise liquid transmission. This feature allows it to be used in the chemical industry, pharmaceutical industry, experimental field, and food industries.


According to the technical parameters, it is divided into the following categories (functions from low to high)


Basic speed-regulating peristaltic pump: it is driven by high-quality stepper motor; it has basic functions such as positive and negative rotation, start and stop, full speed (cleaning), and speed control;


Flow-type peristaltic pump: color LCD and touch screen technologies are adopted; users can directly input the flow; it is easy to operate with an intuitive interface display; it is mainly suitable for precise control of flow transmission with a flow control accuracy up to 0.5%; it boasts functions such as with flow display, flow control and flow accumulation; the disadvantage of this type of pump is that it is large in size and difficult to install in equipment and products with limited space.


Distributing peristaltic pump: it is mainly suitable for various complex liquid quantitative distribution, accurate metering and quantitative feeding. When the requirement on the liquid volume dispensing accuracy is high, the liquid volume distributing mode is more convenient to use; when the requirement on the output is high, the time distribution mode is more convenient to use.


3. Precautions for the use of peristaltic pump


(1) After the pump tube is used for about 220 hours, the hose can be turned over (that is, 90 degree rotation), because after a long time of squeezing one side of the tube, it is easy to cause damage to one side, and turning over can increase its service life.

(2) The storage period of the pump tube shall not exceed one year (long-term non-use will cause aging).

(3) Lubricate the pump rollers every 6 months (special lubricants are required).

(4) After the peristaltic pump has been used for a long time, if abnormal noise occurs, it can be removed for inspection to see if the phenomenon is caused by the wear or damage of the bearing. If not, please contact the peristaltic pump manufacturers.
