Introduction to the Knowledge of Pressure Sensors

The pressure sensor is a sensor that converts pressure into electrical signal output, and the electrical test instrument in the pressure measuring instrument is usually called a pressure sensor. Pressure sensors are widely used in various industrial automation environments, involving water conservancy and hydropower, railway transportation, intelligent buildings, production automation, aerospace, military, petrochemical, oil wells, electricity, ships, machine tools, pipelines and many other industries.

Ⅰ. The composition of the pressure sensor

Pressure sensor is the most widely used sensor, which generally consists of elastic sensing element and displacement sensing element. The function of the elastic sensing element is to make the measured pressure act on a certain area and convert it into displacement or strain, and then the displacement sensing element or strain gauge converts it into an electrical signal that has a certain relationship with the pressure. Sometimes the functions of these two elements are combined.

Ⅱ. Classification of pressure sensors

Pressure sensors are mainly divided into two categories: semiconductor piezoresistive type and electrostatic capacitance type. Let us introduce their principles separately.

1. Semiconductor piezoresistive type: The semiconductor piezoelectric impedance diffusion pressure sensor forms a semiconductor deformation pressure on the surface of the sheet, and the sheet is deformed by an external force (pressure) to produce a piezoelectric impedance effect, thereby converting the impedance change into an electrical signal.

2. Capacitance type: Capacitance type pressure sensor is to form a capacitance by opposing the fixed pole of glass and the movable pole of silicon, and convert the change of electrostatic capacitance generated by the deformation of the movable pole by external force (pressure) into electrical signal.

Ⅲ. Application of pressure sensor

Pressure sensors are mainly used in: booster cylinders, superchargers, gas-liquid booster cylinders, gas-liquid boosters, presses, compressors, air-conditioning refrigeration equipment and other fields.

1. Applied to the hydraulic system: The pressure sensor is mainly used to complete the closed-loop control of the force in the hydraulic system.

2. Application in safety control system: Pressure sensors are often used in safety control systems, and the main target area is the safety management system of the air compressor itself.

Applied to promote sleep: Put the pressure sensor under the mattress, the pressure sensor will sense the movements related to turning over, heartbeat and breathing, the sensor will analyze this series of information, and then through the analysis of the sensor, finally all the data processing into a piece of track, of course, can compress a night's sleep into a few minutes of music.
